Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Delhi Shabdotsav (organised by Suruchi Prakashan, Delhi) collects through this website and at the festival, and how it is used.
What we collect
- Forms on this website. When you subscribe to updates, send a contact message or sign up to volunteer, we collect the details you enter (such as name, email address, phone number, city and your message). Submissions are stored in a Google Sheet owned by the organisers and processed through Google Apps Script. We do not use third-party form services.
- Registration. Festival registration is handled by the registration system linked from this site; that system's own privacy terms apply to the data you enter there.
- At the festival. Photographs, video and audio are recorded at the event; see the Photography and media section of our Terms & Conditions.
Analytics and cookies
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga) and records the pages you view, how you reached the site, your device and browser type and your approximate location (city level). It does not receive anything you type into our forms, we have not enabled Google's advertising features, and we do not use it to identify you. You can opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
The site sets no advertising cookies. The embedded venue map is loaded from Google Maps only after you choose to open it, and the introduction film on the home page is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); Google's privacy policy applies to those embeds.
How we use your information
- to respond to your enquiry or volunteer application;
- to send festival updates you have asked for — programme, speakers, registration and the next edition;
- to run the festival safely (for example emergency notices to registered attendees).
With your consent we may share delegate contact details with approved partners or sponsors for event-related opportunities. We do not sell personal data.
Retention and your rights
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop receiving updates, at any time by writing to shabdotsav@suruchiprakashan.com.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always published at this address.
